HCI EAST AFRICA LIAISON OFFICER, Hargeisa, Somalia
Human Concern International (HCI), established in 1980 is one of Canada’s leading non-profit organization. We are currently looking for a LIAISON OFFICER for HCI East Africa office based in Hargeisa, Somalia
The incumbent will be responsible for the coordinated, effective and efficient planning and implementation of priorities, plans and projects in support of Somalia Famine’s recovery and development programs; rehabilitation, reconstruction, resettlement in the region. This position is responsible for seeking the coordinated, effective and efficient planning and implementation of priorities, plans and projects in support of East Africa’s famine recovery, and development. HCI’s main focus is Southern Somalia but other project and programs in the region will also be covered.
Roles and responsibilities
The HCI East Africa Liaison Officer is responsible for:
Liaising with partner organizations, other local and international NGOs community
Community mobilization and outreach
Identifying, assessing and recommending projects and programs to meet and benefit community needs
Managing a constant and efficient relationships with the HCI partners and other local and international NGOs
Providing guidance to partners in the implementation of HCI projects
Ensuring effective and timely implementation of projects, programs and activities
Overseeing, monitoring and evaluating the HCI projects
Preparing and implementing fund development plans to raise funds for HCI East Africa projects
Preparing monthly activities reports and reporting to the Executive Director
We are seeking a dynamic individual with a dedicated focus on the delivery of quality services. He/she should demonstrate the ability to work effectively with or within the NGO community in a high-pressure and high-visibility context.
Requirements
Strong knowledge and experience in project management in developing countries coupled with demonstrated coordination ability;
Strong background in business and experience in the NGO sector where she or he demonstrated the ability to manage a complex multi-stakeholders environment;
Good knowledge of East Africa and its context;
Experience in integrating cross-cutting themes such as gender equality and diversity into objectives work plans and evaluations of results would be an asset;
Languages: fluency in Somali, Arabic, and English;
University degree with at least five years of relevant professional experience in non-profit management or related areas.
