Fitra is due for each member of your household including the new born. It will be more beneficial for the needy to receive it during the month of Ramadan.

Zakat Ul-Mal

As one of the pillars of Islam, Zakaat is due on your wealth. Your Zakaat will help alleviate human suffering and you will receive a promised reward. Zakat is 2.5% of all zakatable wealth.

Also, the Government of Canada, through CIDA, has announced increased support for relief efforts to assist the people victimized by the drought in East Africa. For every dollar Canadians contribute to registered Canadian charities responding to the East Africa drought, from July 6 until September 16, 2011, the Government of Canada will set aside one dollar for the Fund.
