The Prophet (saw) would sacrifice a second Qurbani alongside his own for those who could not afford to sacrifice a Qurbani.
The Prophet (saw) advised Ali (ra) to practice this Sunnah. When Hanash (ra) asked Ali (ra) why he was sacrificing two rams, Ali (ra) replied: “ The messenger of Allah enjoined upon me to sacrifice on his behalf, so that is what I am doing” [Abu Dawud].
This beautiful Sunnah ensures that we are intentional and aware of our sacrifice, that we are constantly thinking of others and of pleasing Allah (swt), and that there is enough Qurbani to provide food to everyone in need.
Revive this forgotten Sunnah and provide more families and their children with a piece of joy on Eid ul Adha and facilitate a day of celebration for them.
Human Concern International is delivering Qurbani to families in need worldwide. You can fulfill your obligation for as little as $60, and a family will have the means to celebrate Eid ul Adha.
