Support the Future Doctors & Educators of Gaza

The ongoing conflict in Gaza presents significant obstacles for Palestinian learners at all levels. Not only have schools been destroyed, disrupting the education of young children, but also higher educational institutions have been severely affected, forcing students and faculty to operate in crowded and dangerous settings. This environment often leads to psychological trauma and stress, undermining the academic focus and performance necessary to build the future medical and educational leaders of Gaza.

Medical students in Gaza face significant financial barriers that hinder their ability to continue and complete their studies. These barriers include high tuition fees, costs of educational materials, transportation, and basic living expenses. Without financial support, many students are at risk of dropping out, causing increasing decline and strain on the healthcare system in Gaza.

“Unfortunately, only 13% of Palestinian refugees in the West Bank and Gaza pursue higher education, according to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). Given the ongoing conflicts and the severe disruptions to daily life and infrastructure, this percentage reflects the extensive challenges faced by the youth in these regions. Considering the current situation in Gaza, can you imagine what the future holds for these potential students?”

Gazan Medical Staff and our Future Doctors are struggling immensely. For six months, the project aims to directly fund medical students and academic members. HCI will be able to provide them with their monthly expenses, which will help students further their careers, advance the economy, and save Gaza with its deteriorating health care sector.

Your Donations will help build Future Doctors of Gaza. With the constant injuries and life-threatening conditions, Gaza needs more doctors to help facilitate and aid the healing of our Palestinian brothers and Sisters.

This project directly addresses the challenges faced by Gaza’s medical students and faculty members by alleviating financial burdens that hinder their academic and professional growth. Through the Scholarship Program for Medical Students in Gaza, 734 medical students and 27 faculty members receive direct financial support to cover their monthly expenses. This ensures that students can focus on their studies without the stress of financial constraints, while faculty members can continue providing high-quality education and supervision. By sustaining both students and educators, the project strengthens the medical education system, ultimately contributing to the development of skilled healthcare professionals in Gaza.

Key outcomes include increased access to higher education for Palestinian students, enhanced academic and professional opportunities, economic and social development, and improved cultural exchange and understanding between Palestinian students and the Egyptian community.

  • Yes, you can sponsor a medical student through this project. Your support will directly contribute to covering their monthly living expenses, allowing them to focus on their education.
  • If you need to cancel your sponsorship before the project ends, the funds you’ve already contributed will still be used to support the students in the program. We encourage donors to commit for the full duration to ensure continuity for the beneficiaries, but we understand unforeseen circumstances may arise.

While direct communication with the medical student is not part of the program to maintain their privacy and focus on their education, we will provide you with regular updates about the project’s impact and progress.

Regular project updates will be shared with the donors, including testimonials from beneficiaries.
