Urgent Relief Needed for Families Affected by Earthquake and Conflict

The Crisis at a Glance

On March 28, 2025, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar, intensifying an already devastating humanitarian crisis.

Over 3,500 lives lost and more than 5,000 injured, with numbers still rising.
Homes flattened, families displaced, and access to food, water, and shelter critically limited.
The earthquake hit areas already torn apart by armed conflict, military rule, and political instability.
Heavy rains continue to worsen conditions for survivors living outdoors

Myanmar’s challenges go far deeper than a natural disaster:

  • 3.4 million internally displaced due to ongoing conflict.
  • 19.9 million people in need of humanitarian assistance in 2025.
  • Over 7 million children at risk from malnutrition and limited healthcare.
  • Refugee flows continue into Bangladesh, Thailand, and India.
  • Restricted humanitarian access is making aid delivery even more urgent.
