Dr. Irfan Sheikh, a Canadian citizen with a Doctorate in Education from Durham University, UK, and an MBA from McGill University, has over 25 years of experience as an educator and 11 years in private sector management. He has served the Muslim community extensively, including as the Board Chair of Human Concern International.
Mashooda-Lubna Syed has nearly 40 years of experience in community building and service. A recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Award and the Senate 150th Anniversary Medal, she helped establish Ottawa’s first Muslim women’s shelter, Sakeenah Homes, in 2020.
Bader Siddiqi, a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), has a long history of volunteerism, holding various leadership roles in organizations like the Canada Pakistan Association and the Ottawa Muslim Association. He is currently a Director at HCI, specializing in financial controllership.
Sheneeza Kanji has over 35 years of experience in Ontario’s education system. She is a community leader and recipient of the 2022 Queen Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee Pin Award and the 2024 NCCM Community Advocate Award for her work with Muslim students and families.
Eiad Kassif, a senior IT strategist for the federal government, brings extensive experience in technology and strategic planning. He has previously volunteered with HCI, participating in multiple committees.
Dr. Fahamia Koudra, a family physician in Renfrew County, is dedicated to supporting children and those in need through her involvement with various local and international organizations. She enjoys traveling, reading, and outdoor activities.
Ishtiaq Salim, with 25+ years in change management and technology, leverages his skills as a chartered accountant to support HCI’s mission. Passionate about youth and community projects, he’s volunteered with HCI since 2015 and served on the Board from 2017-2020 and 2023 to present.
